Ok well i have the doctors yet again tomoro morning and having been back on mirtazapine 15mg for 9 weeks now and feeling worse on them than ever before i think i need on something else. I feel emotionless unreal and very ill on them. My anxiety through the roof and feel depression taking hold again.
My only concern is what the hell they will put me on. I seem to be sensitive to drugs not just ads but strong painkillers too. Does anyone have any similar problems im on and off work and currently been off 2 weeks but how long they will put up with it i dont know and being a single mum cant afford it. But there is no way i can even get on a bus to even get there.
Anyway the most recent ad they tried but no sucess was sertraline only managed one dose within an hour of taking it i was away with the fairies and couldnt move.
Even my doctors dont know what to do. But i need something

Dear Kelly.
It's me again.
Holding thumbs for you to find the right med. i just want to reassure you that you are not alone. Since 5 months ago I've been on lowered dose of Mirtazapine (7.5mg). Feel ill all the time. And I really mean EVERY SINGLE DAY. Various intensity, but it's here all the time. Moreover I have back ache, joints ache. I can withstand it, but it is very annoying. Hope you will start feeling better soon. Please, keep us updated!

Aww thanks hun
I feel like a walking time bomb. I feel so emotionless. Are you on any other medication or just the mirtazapine. Im so little only 5'3 and the depression had made me lose so much weight. I have put weight on but its just junk food i want

Oh yes, I also take Cipralex (Lexapro) 10mg in the morning. Since I started with Mirtazapine (Feb 2016) I gained approximately 16-17kg. Anyway I am 180cm and today 91kg so it is pretty OK still. Sorry for kg and cm units, I am from Europe. Surprising for me is the fact that I am only crawling for junk food after taking a pill (by 20 minutes). I can eat whatever then. But after I go to sleep and all the following day I have no need to eat "everything". Many people describe that they can only eat and eat all the day long. Me not ... maybe it is Cipralex blocking this

I have the same cravings of junk food Kelly and it's always after I take the mirt. part of it is cause when I take the mirt I'm too sleepy to make healthy food I think but definitely want sweets a lil while after I take mirt. I don't eat much during the day but never really have. I can eat dinner and I do make meat a side dish and veg tho. I have a hard time with lot of foods dye to bad teeth and having teeth pulled nd not having partial dentures. I need all my teeth pulled nd full dentures but cap out at 1500 a yr in dental nd can't afford all that money. I know the junk food is the last thing I need but that's what mirt makes me crave bad nd if it's soft junk food it's easier 4 me 2 eat. I guess I'm just making excuses but it is so true the mirt makes me crave sweets or easiest thing 2 make cuz it makes me sleepy on top of craving sweets. wish u best of luck as you sound like a sweetheart. moma s

If Mirt was going to help it would have kicked in by now after 9 weeks so I would suggest no point continuing and you have lost confidence in it anyway. I would say don't be persuaded by your doc to go to a higher dose especially as this is an easy thing to suggest when he doesn't know what to do. And if he suggests stopping do taper slowly. I would be asking my doc for specialist help as you really need someone who really understands the torment you are in , will work with you to reach a solution and you have confidence in. Be firm with your doc tomorrow and let us know the outcome.

The feelings of unreality and de-personalisation are all part of the severe anxiety syndrome - they will go as you get better so don't worry at all over this just accept it as part of the problem but first of all you need to get the right treatment.

Have you tried effexor? Look up California rocket fuel. It's a combination of mirtazipine and effexor.

Hi everyone. I have been taking California rocket fuel (300 mg venlafaxine and 15 mg mirtapazine) since last July. It works great
for me. I'm happier than I have been in years and I sleep better. I have a few side effects that don't bother me much. The only.one I am concerned about is the high cholesterol. My doctor is monitoring it right now. My only worry is that the meds might stop being so effective for me or will have to he adjusted if the side effects are too harmful to my general health.

I'm on both as well. 45 mg of effexor. The mirtz was only added 1 1/2 months ago for sleep only actually. My dose is 2.5mg but looking to taper down and hopefully get used to getting sleep without it.

I take klonopin and ambient as needed with mirt. maybe just an anxiety med might b better for you. klonopin is a 12 hr acting med. you an just take at bedtime if it makes you sleepy during the day. they have a score on them so u can easily break in half. or some ppl the lower the dose on mirt the more sedating. for some higher doses are more effective for depression from what my psych doc says. I also have a pill cutter so maybe you can try a half tab of mirt for couple wks 7.5 MG or even a quarter of a tab for a couple wks 3.75 MG but you know your own tolerances and your appt is tomm so make sure 2 tell doc your sensitive to meds. some ppl need to very slowly come off mirt depending on how long on the med and how high of a dose. there are many options such as adding in another med or changing med altogether. if your sensitive maybe they can give a liquid form so you can use a dropper like for kids to take lower doses of meds. or dissolve your tablet and use a dropper. and as a single mom idk if you qualify for assistance financially. with work if you file for a short fmla you might still get paid and it should protect your job. Things will get better. hang in there. try relaxation techniques read or exercise or watch a movie so you don't focus on the anxiety as much. counseling might help. my best regards moma s
