good morning dominic ,
how did you sleep and how do you feel about going home today?
it is pretty normal to feel pain in the muscles of your knee(s) - such a big challenge to keep you balanced - how bad is the pain?
is your bedroom upstairs ? I don't know what to tell you -- If it was me, I would stay one more night ....but I live alone -
you will make the right decision, I am sure about that ..
please let us know, okay ...
be gentle with yourself ...
big warm hug

After a couple of days the pain was much reduced and now after nearly ten weeks, it is very occasional and only very slight.

I'm convinced that when they dislocate your hip they also put alot of stress through into your knee joint in the process.
I had a beautiful great big hand print just above my knee post surgery, showed the surgeon and told him he had left me his fingerprints the following day, he commented he must have held on tooo tight, we laughed about it.
You will be feeling all sorts of pains and muscle aches from the syrgery, also from the fact you have probabaly been walking incorrectly for months if not years as that old hip joint wore out, all part of the fun and games as you re-discover walking correctly again.

I am nine weeks post op. Did they tell you go up the stairs with your good leg and go down the stairs with your bad leg? That seems to help with stairclimbing. I sometimes get a pain in my knee too but it gets better and better. I think it's just your leg adjusting.
