Help figuring this out please! :(

I have pain and also I have protein, nitrites, blood, ketones and leukocytes in my urine....but no infection. The doctor cultured my urine three times and it didn't grow bacteria. What could cause all of these things in my urinalysis to be abnormal without an infection??

Interesting. Nitrates in urine usually mean the presence of bacteria. Now when you say urine culture, you mean he sent it out to the lab for several days to see what it grew right? Not just the dipstick in the dr office? Have you heard of Interstitial Cystitis...your symptoms could be IC which feels like a chronic UTI without any infection.

Similar thing happened to me.  I still got a prescription though and then used Cystex with cranberry pills and it has cleared.  It took quite awhile though.  Have you tried Cystex?  It's OTC

Thank you for the reply, what kind of script did they give you? I have been taking cranberry pills for a few weeks with no relief yet.

I can only refer you to the COB foundation UK. They can answer your question and point you in the right direction to get help. If it's any consolation, there are thousands of us in the same boat!! If you are on antibiotics, it will also give you a negative culture.

    Good luck, take care. :-)

Thank you for the reply, I was on doxy but stopped taking it 2 days before they did the culture. Could that have still been an issue?
