Panadeine extra addiction

I've been taking 12 panadeine extra everyday for years due to endometriosis and want to taper down. Having a genuine reason for pain st times makes it hard to get off the drug. How do I do this?

    Hi Kit

Panadeine contains a narcotic...12 per day for years means your body is physically dependant upon the narcotic...even if you lack the mental addiction.

You need to see the physician who has been prescribing it to be overseen and supervised during the process.

    I admire your will.

    kind regards

      Thx

I certainly don't get cravings for them but I'm questioning my pain sensitivity. Also to recap I haven't always taken that amount everyday.. there has been times of two a day

      Hi Kit,

Any time we withdraw something from our body, our body must adjust. So, yes I would think you will experience some pain flare. My neurologist tells me that narcotics cause a pain cycle that must be broken. I was sceptical but tried anyway. Took a few months but now I only take narcotics for unusual reasons...like my recent surgery to replace my elbow.

My neurologist also addressed my poor sleeping because lack of sleep causes an escalation in pain. Our bodies produce Melatonin in preparation of sleep. Today's lights and screens inhibit this production so I take Melatonin no more than 3 mg two hours before bedtime.

      kind regards
