ED after RP

Hi Guys

I'm 16 months after my Operation/surgery. Can't raise anything down below in a natural way. My surgeon told me he managed to spare Nerves on one side. Thinking of using argenine suplements to get things going. I'd try anything. I Do use the Vacuum pump but would rather try other options. I'm 55 other wise healthy. PSA now zero.

Anybody out there got any positve outcomes having tried any one or two particular things?

Thanks

Deeks

Deeks, is the pump working well for you?? Also, what about injection ??
    • Posted

      thanks for your reply Andrew.

Yes the pump works ok. It's a 5-10 min trial but Ok.  Muse injections are 2nd to that I'd say and a little painful and short life span - 30 mins tops.

I'm sure there is a natural therapy to this? Rather than the the 3 viagra options ie cialis, levitra etc.. they race your heart and don't give you an erection. may try arginine. ?

      any ideas?

I have no ideas as of now. I'm having the same problem. Also, I'm able to have erection but not able to get on hard at all... I know, sounds crazy!! Have you experience any thing similar??

Injections and trust me they dont hurt.

Hi Deeks, have had Ed for long time now. Tried all the usual meds but found that the side effects outweighed the minimal benefit gained. the latest try out was Vitaros an alprostadil based cream that you squeeze from a tube into the urethra.

This gave a poor erection and left me with pain in the shaft of my penis and in my scrotum, not worth the 15 pounds per dose but you may find these things work well for you. It may be possible to samples from your doctor. I have tried many herbal type remedies and have found that none realy have any effect. This is an area where snake oil salesmen abound. I use the pump, it works well and always gives me a reliable erection. have it down to a fine art , suggest you persist and you will find that you will get quicker in its use.

Herbalists have been trying for centurys to find a substance that will give an erection to a man who cant for whatever reason. Happy your PAS is now zero, stay well , all the best for your future.

I'm hearing everyone talking about the pump, do you use the pump With ur partner are this is something you use by yourself?? Please help!!

good to get your message Andrew. Let me help. So It takes me now 5 mins or so to get properly hard, using the pump and then the rings. we have a around 30 misn before I need to remove the rings as the penis becomes numb and needs blood to circulate again. Practice makes perfect. I tend to use the pump in the toilet, by myself and then slip into bed. Pump is the way to go and it makes you feel like you have a proper sex life again. this is No place for embarrasment. Adopt a sense of fun and you will enjoy a sex life again complete with orgasms...

happy to help. If you let it,  ED is complete depressor!!!

You have to do what you can to normalise things.

THe Vacuum pump is the way to bring you back to normal penetrative sex. Plenty of lubrication helps ( that all comes with the instructions).

With all the latest research on Prostate Cancer I'm not sure I would've had surgery. It kills of cancer and then kills off your sex life. I have a sympathetic Doctor who likes to help and all medicines in the UK are free. So we try different approaches. I'm going back to 5mg of cialis to take every day to see if a daily intake will help me get a bit more erect, naturally.

I stayed on the 5MG for a month, it did nothing, abosolutly nothing!! I also tried to 20mg, it also did nothing.... thanks for sharing....

I had surgery two months ago and take 5mg Cialis daily. I was told to self stimulate  a couple  of times a week. And erections are coming back.

As there is only one overpriced pump on sale in my neck of the woods, I did not yet buy a pump. I hear that using both Cialis and a pump daily is a great combination to get as close to one's former sexual self.

Hi Barney, If you send me a private message i can give you details of a pump supplier that will deliver to anywhere. They cost about 30  pounds sterling. Dont be missled you dont need to pay a fortune to get a reliable pump. I investigated thoroughly when i bought mine.

They work equaly well on all users, spinal injury, prostate surgery all problems.

Any one else need this info please just ask.

Hi Deeks, sorry but all meds in the Uk are not free unless you have specific illness. I.E. diabetes or have had prostate surgery. Most meds carry a charge of about eight pounds sterling per prescription but ED meds are not generaly available on the NHS unless for those specific complaints. the rest of us need a private prescription and have to pay the full cost of the drugs needed.

You are bang on about Ed being a major depressor. The first time i used my pump I just could not believe it. It was the first time that i had managed an erection in a long time, didnt we take simple things for granted. Its not like it was when i was 20 but hey what is.

Keep on you Guys, there is light at the end its just not always bright.

Hi Andrew, When we go to bed to make out,I get the pump ready, that is fit the constriction ring onto the pump cylinder, lubricate the end of the cylinder and its ready to go. I usualy use it in the bed room with my wife it only takes a couple of mins to produce an erection and as others have said its only safe to keep the ring on your penis for no more than 30 mins. It is considered safe to use it again after an hour. You get quicker in setting up with use. Once you have bought it there is no further cost other than replacing the rings now and again. Ps. some men apply two rings to help keep the erection and its a good idea to trim the hair around the penis to stop it tangling up on the ring.As Deek says dont be embarased about using this method, it works. I always have a full orgasm with the pump but all the semen is not expeled due to the pressure from the ring, what doesnot come out will do when you remove the ring.

You are wellcome Andrew, for a long time I felt that no one knew what this condition was like and then an older friend of mine had asked about my health ( i was being investigated for prostate cancer at the time) told me that he has Ed and used the pump to gain an erection. Wow finding someone who i could talk this through with. We dont all have that so thats why a forum like this one is  so valuable. Best wishes to you.

Hi thanks for the offer, very tempting.

But I decided to travel to the USA next month and will buy a pump in California where I saw online they sell for less than $20.

    • Posted

Hay Barney, what site is that where I can buy the pump for 20, and what is it call?
    • Posted

I can't recall off hand where I saw it, but it was a leading pharmacy chain.

I suggest you google the leading pharmacies in the United States and search for penile pumps. In Australia  where I live, pharmacies don't sell pumps. And sex shops that do sell them don't fill me with confidence.

interestingly in the United States the pharmacies that sell them require you to order online from the pharmacy and you collect it from the pharmacy. I have no idea if they can post it overseas, if that's what you were considering.

When I said the price is $20, I meant from $20 and up.

Hi Andrew, sorry for this very late reply I have been off line for a couple of months or so.

As on my last post about the pump, this is the only thing that works for me. I tried Vitaros , a cream to drip into the end od your urethra. IT WAS USELESS.

it caused pain and burning for around an hour after use but no effect on errecTions at all.

Back to the pump. I prepare it beforehand, fit the tension ring and lubricate it well. When ready r

To go lubricate Penis and slowly pump counting to three between pumps. Then U deflate and start again. Slip of the tension band and all is ready. I be tip gi Ben t me I will pass on is to cut your public hair around the Base of your Penis short so it won't tangle in the tension band .Apply lubrication before removing band and remember don't leave it n place for longer than 30 min. If you need more info send private message. Regards,Phil.
