Numbness in upper chest.

So about a month ago i got a numbness in the upper right of my chest. Went and seen a doctor about it and they said to just keep an eye on it. Well the numbness left the right side of my chest and moved to the left side of my chest. Havent had any injuries or anything but am starting to worry it could be something more serious.. The numbness isnt the tingling numbness, but is the numb you feel when they give you a shot to rip your tooth out. Its the dead numb feeling where u can feel pressure but thats it.. Does anybody have any suggestions to what i can do or maybe what could be the problem?.

    If you are taking any vitamins, check for b6 and stop taking them if you are. I would have b6 level pulled.

    You could have a compression of a nerve. May want to see alignment specialist.

      so does b6 cause these things or make them worse? ive heard from a couple people that a vitamin b deficiency can cause numbness also

    Hi justin ....i have never heard of numbness in the chest...it sounds worrying... i am sorry i cant be of any help but would be interested to know that you get answers...i myself have tingling n numbness in my lower body n legs due to cauda equina syndrome...i had surgery 5mths ago n am now having more good days than previous...night time seems worse for some reason....have you been checked for spinal problems/ injury that may cause numbness in any part of the body...

      hi marie just to let u know I had surgery for caude equina syndrome 15 years ago never spoken to anyone whome had same op lol best wishes if I want to ask any questions feel welcome

      Hi marie did u totally recover from cauda equina symptoms or were u left with damage...how long did u have spinal problems for before op... .and how many years did u get relief after op... i have never spoken to anyone else that knows cauda equina syndrome...look forward to hearing from you...i live in ireland...where r u....marie...grt name...lol

    Sorry to hear about your concerns.   As you know we are not doctors on this forum and can only give an answer if we, ourselves, have suffered or are suffering with the same symptoms. 

    From my own experience, a lot of my trouble are trapped nerves in my spine.  The pain is very severe and I'm now on morphine.  Hopefully I might get my operation in January, fingers crossed, as it's already been postponed a few times!

    Sorry, going back to your own discomfort, I would advise you to return to see your GP and tell him of your latest symptoms.  He will then have a record of your symptoms.  I think he will possibly send you for a scan to see what is happening.

    From my own experience, I have found such a small thing as a nerve can cause a lot of pain!  Maybe at sometime you have lifted something heavy or turned suddenly?

    I often get a numbness in my left left that is exactly how you explain, I could take a cricket bat to it and feel nothing. i suffer from Diabetic Perithial neuropathy in my feet. you may not have any of these, but its just a suggestion.

    I have a damaged spine Justin and agree nerve damage is very painful like someone stabbing me or putting a red hot poker on me

    thanks everyone not sure exactly whats going on. waiting to see the doctor again.. its just weird its only in one spot and it moved from.one side of my chest to.the other..

      I hope ur feeling a bit better today justin...i posted to your original post n asked if you have spinal injury...but only noticed ur comment saying it was also on oppisite side ...would it be possible that you may have fibromyalga...a condition that has a habit of sequinizing itself n can be very tender if pressure is applied directly ...this condition attacks nerve endings..this can be numbness ...tingling....needle type pain...i have FIBRO / PSA and CES... all these conditions can cause numbness...

    I have the same exact thing and I have stenosis on the thoracic part of my spine. Sounds like you might have it also. Go to a spinal Dr for an MRI. Dont go to one of those hokey businesses that promise you are going to feel better in 3 days. I feel like they are a scam or at best just a quick fix.
