Cataract confusion

i am going into my 4th day after having cataract surgery on left eye. I am feeling disappointed. At this stage my vision in that eye is so blurry worse than before the operation. I have had family and friends who have had the procedure done, say their vision is better than ever. I am feeling rather low and unhappy. Just wondering from others experience does it improve with time?

I had one eye done in July  2016 and second in Sept 2016 I am still putting eye drops and no improvement. I got ND after the first surgery and that had not went away. Both eyes are a mess I feel like I am looking out of a piece of wax paper.  Hope you will see an improvement but sometimes its gets worse, I use to have 20/25 in both eyes now I have 20/40 in one and 20/30 in the other also there is still a piece of lens in my right which will have to be removed sometime when they don't get it all.

And the first Doctor got very rude with me when  I complained about my dark arc in corner of my eye  told me 3 of of 10 people get it.

Do  you know what type of lens was inserted?  Was it Symfony which is produced by Abbot Medical?

I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues.  Unfortunately, all surgery has a degree of unpredictability.  Did you ask your surgeon or the doctor who did the post-op exam if you have any complications?  For example, do you have inflammation, edema, or other post-surgical issues?  Are you using the eye drops as directed?  Do you have any pain, burning sensation, or other symptoms?  Even though many people have excellent vision immediately afterwards, not everyone does.  Please check with your surgeon or other post-surgical care specialist.

Also, how do your eyes look in the mirror?  Is the operated eye red?  Is the puil extremely large or small compared to the other eye?  You might be experiencing something as simple as blurred vision due to a dilated or constricted pupil.  (The pupil is dialed very wide during surgery, which can persist for several days.  Sometimes after surgery the surgeon uses drops to constrict the pupil so that iris acts as a protective barrier to help protect the eye as it heals, and this can also last for several days.)

Thanks for all your advice and encouragement. I had my specialist appointment yesterday. Prognosis is not that good. 4 weeks before surgery I had extremely high eye pressure where I had to have laser treatment to bring the pressure down. Apparently the optic nerve has been damaged because of it. My vision in which case will never good in the left eye. Will always need to wear prescription glasses.  Cannot get new glasses until I go back to the specialist in 5 weeks to get a better look at the eye to see where I am. Also they recommend and have booked me in to get the right eye done in 3 months, even though there is no cataract on that eye, it is recommended because of the eye pressure and glaucoma. Very annoyed.

Which procedure are they recommending for your right eye?  Is it lens removal or laser peripheral iridotomy?

It seems unusual to recommend lens removal if the cataract is not bothersome but you have high IOP.  I'd have expected them to recommend laser peripheral iridotomy instead.

I have already had the laser peripheral iridotomy before my surgery as my eye pressure was over 60.
