i have trouble with both my knees but my right one is now becoming very unstable

i can be just sitting relaxing and I move and my knee makes a loud click and locks I have to manually force it to move and that is so painful otherwise it would not go back into position,it's makes a noise when I move it back sometimes like a grating sound

so any one have any ideas what's causing it and what I can do to help myself

I am waiting to see a orthopaedic surgeon with arthritis in my feet

i have been waiting now for almost 7 months and my appointment keeps getting put back so maybe I could ask when I see him if I ever get to the hospital

in the mean time has any one experianced this and know of anything I can do to help myself ?

Sally I have osteoarthritis in both my knee's and that's the same problems I have. The clicking noise is the bone rubbing against bone (cartilage has worn away) and this causes the pain. Tell the orthopaedic surgeon when you get your appointment.

I get the injextions in my knees n they do not help anymore. This particular dr said theres no surgery to make it better, just therapy n exercise.. Is this true? Do we really have to live in pain like this?
