Hi
I have not been feeling at all well for a long time.
Numerous symptoms so GP checked me out and when he pressed under my right rib and took a deep breath, I felt a very sudden sharp pain under my left rib. Has anyone had this, curious as to what it could be?
Also, just had an endoscopy and the report states:
Site a: Fundus
small haemorrhagic area
Large volume of bile stained fluid in stomach, removed with suction.
Hpylori test was negative.
Now just waiting on GP fllow up and advice.
Eveything I seem to eat makes me go clammy and feel sick, with pain under both ribs and severe bloating which is very uncomfortable.
I binge drink on a Sunday afternoon and a Monday evening, (roughly 6-8 pints of lager on both days) rest of the week don't touch alcohol at all.
I have an ultrasound booked in for a few days before xmas.
What would or can this show if they are looking in the abdomen area.
The small bleed in the stomach has worried me a little, as too the large volume of bile in the stomach.
Was sedated during the proces and I have had nausea and diarrohea for the last 2 days - is this normal due to the sedative?
Sorry for all questions, just would like to know if anyone else been through the same symptoms and could it be IBS, or to do with liver and pancreas?
Much appreciated!

Gray,
Sounds like you have gallstones. If you eat fatty food it will probably be worse. I had my gallbladder out and it was the best thing I ever did.
If you get any serious pain that is unbearable and pain killers don't help go to A&E but otherwise the scan will tell you how big the stones are and if they are causing any problems. Problems only happen if the stones block the gallbladder or the tubes coming from it.

Thanks Susan
Don't eat great but the again I dont really eat fried food a lot - but diet could always be better I suppose!
Did having your gallbladder removed change your diet - did you put weight on - I don't eat a huge amount to be honest - but I am always bloated.
Thank you for your comment - much appreciated

I have the nausea and diarrhea every day -your findings don't sound bad-do you have your gallbladder. After gallbladder surgery, many people have bile in their stomach because it is released directly from the liver...

Give up binge drinking; it could be causing stomach irritation. See what your GP says. Other things need to be ruled out before diagnosing IBS.
Tell him your reactions to the sedatives which are known to be irritants. You may have to have a different procedure such as a barium meal if you ever need a stomach investigation again. Sedation gave me severe depression.when I had an endoscopy and it lasted three weeks. It isn't worth going through an endoscopy if you have an intolerance to it.

Yes, could be alcohol but used to drink a lot more years ago - and I don't touch spirits, but if I have to do so I will try to do so
sedative was midazolam - and it must have knocked me clean out I think!
thank you for your comment much appreciated

I'm going though very similar problems to you. See my post named pancreas problem? im waiting for results of an mrcp at the moment. Had ct scan back in June that was normal apart from fatty liver. My alt has been raised for 2 years and is creeping up still. It's at 115 now. To save yourself the worry, why don't you pay private for the ultrasound. You'll probably have it done tomorrow or might even be able to fit you in today.

Thanks Leigh
I am in the UK and can't afford to go private, but haven't lost any weight.
Pain under ribs is moderate and throbbing most of the time, and sometimes doubles me over.
Don't seem to feel as hungry as I used to do and don't eat a great deal comaprwed to what I used to years ago.
Also have mucus and very loose stools at the moment, low back pain constant and feel drained all day.
All my bloods are ok but my LFT was slightly raised and cholesterol was higher than it should be.
Will see what the ultrasound comes back with, only a 3 week wait so not too bad.
Hoping you get things sorted yourself, sound like your issues are worse than mine, so all the very best and please keep me posted.
