nerve pain

hi i have had severepain on anus for 6 months been to a colocterol surgeon who said i may have shingles prescribed anti fungal tablets did nothing cannot lightly touch anus without severe pain think they have given up and referred me to a pain management clinic  3 months waiting list is this nerve pain has anyone experianced this i hope you all keep well and out of pain john

    I hate shingles. So sorry for your pain.

    Sadly, shingles pain can continue after the lesions are healed.

    Shingles is a disease of the actual nerve root.

    Definitely see a pain specialist.

      hi i have no lesions or severe rash just unbearable pain on anus particularly if you touch it  emla cream numbs it for a little while  just live in hope it will go away someday thanks for your concern and keep well john

      thank you they think it might be shingles but i cant get a yes or no out of them am taking lyrica  and endone for the pain bur all i can do is keep putting emla cream on anus to numb it for a while dont know what to do keep well john

      hello i have had a boston scientific implant done yesterday very sore at the moment see program chap next monday am on a basic program right now i am in australia in melbourne vic if anyone interested in procedure etc just let me know thanks for your concern

    You might try a frozen gel pack...they are flay, do not leal, and remain cold longer.

    You can purchase one from the pharmacy.
