MTX + Folic Acid

Hi

Looking for some advice..

I have been on 6 MTX tabs per week with today being my 8th dose..

At RA clinic on friday i was told to hand in a prescription for extra folic acid and prochlorperazine tabs cos ive started to feel/be sick..

I picked up my prescription earlier and DR had only prescribed my 4x1 per week folic acid..so spoke to receptionist who got DR to change it for the 28 tabs so i can take them on all days except MTX day..

However..ive just looked at the box..and ive still been prescribed 5mg tabs...looking online it seems to be that i should only be taking 1mg if taking them daily??

    I have seen a few posts about daily folic acid but I take 25mg the day after my 25mg of Methotrexate. I wonder why it's been prescribed differently? I hope you get a reply that helps. Perhaps speak to your Rheumatology specialist nurse.

    Hi I take 6 methotrexate per week and then a 5mg of folic acid the other 6 days that is what my rheumatologist told me to do
