Sinus pressure, jaw pain, neck pain on one side

I started having sinus pressure and postnasal drip on my right side about four days ago. My face would occasionally get this weird sensation, not numbness, just a tight sensation on the right side only. Today, I had the urge to touch my neck and the right side is slightly bigger near my throat. It's not a lump, I can just feel that it is bigger under the skin. I can swallow just fine and I haven't had voice changes or anything, but my neck and jaw have started to have shooting pains that come and go. My teeth on that side also hurt occasionally but the pain doesn't seem like it could be my wisdom teeth. I am terrified that something really bad is wrong with me. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow for something unrelated but I will definitely be bringing this up. Has anyone else had these symptoms?

I'd like to add that my throat has been increasingly dry over the past couple of days. it was subtle at first, but now my throat is very dry no matter how much water I drink. I'm freaking out because throat cancer pops up whenever I google my symptoms. If someone else has had this, please share your diagnosis.

If you make no progresss with the doctor it might be worth getting the opinion of a chiropractor as this sort of thing can be related to a joint/ nerve probem in the neck and they are usually good at discerning this. At least it  might rule it out!

Bumping this discussion to add that I now have white-ish streaks on my right tonsil and pain on that side of my throat as well. My ear also has twinges of sharp pain that come and go. The postnasal drip and sinus pain is almost constant and this has been going on for over two weeks. I had a strep test that came back negative and the doctor left it at that. Idk what to do, has anyone else had this?

    Hi,

i was just wondering if you are better. I had/have something like yours that has been going on for 3 months. The top of My throat got v sore on right side, then the back of mouth, tonsils etc white spots. Teeth v painful. 10 days of penicillin, then mouth ulcerated. All the time  I had masses of thick white discharge. Finally went to ent specialist and had tube down nose. Massive sinus infection (my nose had been clear) gathering in pools in upper throat. More antibiotics, drinking masses of water, nose jets, steaming, sinus steroid spray for a week and this other spray for 2 months. This was 20 dec. The excruciating sore throat started clearing to bad within 3 days and was lurking my 20 January, but all my glands were down. Unfortunately, started creeping back so upped drinking water, nose jets etc to make sure I can try and keep under control. If still here   In 3 weeks I will go back to Ent.

i did get chest ex ray - all fine.

      Hi,

My neck no longer feels odd but I'm still dealing with the postnasal drip, sharp/dull pains on one side of my throat at a time, popping noises in the nose, recurrent sore tonsils, and pressure and pain in my face. I had a CBC that came out fine and my doctor concluded that it couldn't be sinusitis because I wasn't having that green, icky nasal discharge. He also said that my tonsils looked weird and were sore because of the constant drainage. My official diagnosis was seasonal allergies but I am convinced that I have some sort of sinus problem because this is still going on even though I've been taking Zyrtec and using a nasaI spray. I will definitely ask for an appointment with an ENT since reading your post.

My chest bones were also sore along with sharp pains in my right breast, shoulder blades, and underarm, so I rushed to the ER in fear of some kind of blood clot. My chest xray and CT scan didn't show anything sinister and I was diagnosed with costochondritis and pleurisy

I had all your symptoms and still have a few. I had no signs of sinus problems...nose totally clear, no headache, no good stuff...in fact v dry. It can't be acid reflux as only one side. Sore chest bone...that's why my mastectomy area was checked!

'When they stuck tube down nose there was a river of infection from right sinus...top of throats crippling on right. And it looked like a volcano of stuff was hanging in top bit of throat. Remember I had all my blistered mouth and tonsils too....that was infection spreading. I went from 9 stone t0 8 stone and hair started snapping off!!!!

i would demand ENT visit or go myself.

If same as me he will give you more antibiotics, adult sinus squirt (3 x day for 1 week as has steroids), then there is this other sinus stuff for 2 months, drink 3 liters of water a day, cleanse sinus with saline squirt daily and steam with just boiling water nothing added. I can not tell you how identical my symptoms were, it would not have gone by itself. In fact I was diagnosed correctly 20 dec and still steaming, squirting , drinking masses of water and sinus spraying....but so much better my glands went down with antibiotics and have not returned...but I have been diligent. I have never had sinus problems before. Good luck. X

    Hi guys,

Got the same symptoms going on. Pain in sinuses, soft palate, throat and tonsils get white stones in them. 11 years of this bull crap. Been tested for immune diseases 5 times. Got a girlfriend now and pray to god this isn't contagious! Doctor ENT says its acid reflux but feel like I have that under control though I do have a history of reflux. The way it hurts sometimes makes me wonder if its something else..

hey look into bartonella. I got it from a cat and didn't have symptoms for 4 ish years. finally retraced it and realized when I contracted it. caused tightness on my right side. back of neck, right check area, jaw, and under eye near the bone. Lyme and its coinfections can cause this. look into both medical and alternative therapies. also detoxing with saunas and exercise/rebounding to move lymph. good luck!

Ive been having quite similar problems for about 4 months now. Its strange the muscle in my neck that feels bigger is the left but the facial sensations i get are mainly focused on the right. I get the jaw pain on the right, i also get a weird feeling way back in my nose that seems like it goes to the back of my head. I honestly feel as if its something to do with a nerve being pressed by possibly inflammation in my neck cause i can physically feel that one side of my neck muscle is larger than the other. It has been causing me quite a bit of anxiety for some time now i wish i had an answer forwhat causes it.

Hopefully this thread isn't completely inactive cause I've had exactly the same symptoms, and then some, since early 2016.

I let a local dentist talk me into a full wisdom tooth extraction (since that might have been causing inflammation and irritation...that wasn't it) and the problems intensified substantially.

Now my muscles are forever tight on the right side of my face, my sinuses are chronically blocked on the right side and unlike before my surgery, my jack cracks and clicks in an awful way. I've just recently started to develop blurred vision in the eye on the right side of my face, but even after scoping and scanning, thousands of dollars of MRI's, nothing.....

No doctor will believe me about any of this. One even chalked it up to allergies and acid reflux and sent me on my way just recently.

Any developments with any in this forum.
