Helo Roger. The worst part is behind you,now on the road to recovery.Your next goal is the removal of the catheter, mine was after 2 weeks.Thats when the retraining of your bladder control begins.Everyone is different,it is now 4 months since my operation, last week was the first time without pads.

Sorry had not finished message.I wear a small pad when i go out for a drink.I went out for a drink about 1 week after catheter removed, mistake urine run like a open tap.Much better now.Drinking about 3 0r 4 pints of beer on the weekends.Dont get disheartened,it will get better.

At least now, the decision has been made, indecision over, the operation over, and you are on the road to recovery. The cancer has been removed,  and that must feel good. Have patience, there is plenty of real life support here.

Ensure when you go for walks in the hospital that your gown is tightly tied as that will support any wounds in your stomach and abdomen.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

oh, and if you have pain, DO NOT BE A HERO? Take all the ends you're offered and if they are not enough to kill the pain, speak up! Tell the nurses you want pain relief ASAP.
