Missed Heart Beats

I've been having missed heat beats and recently had a 24 hour monitor.  The results showed 15% ve beats and normal beats 85%.  My average heart rate was 61 bpm and the lowest was 38 bpm.  I have also had a cough which no one can explain and doesn't seem to be responding to anything and I get occassional chest pain.  Is this anything to be worried about?

What did the specialist say when they told you your results?

I have a condition called SVT which starts from missed beats then my heart races 200bpm+ it's a very scary situation but apparently it won't hurt me, hard to believe but I try my best.

The more you worry about the missed beats it seems that the more pronounced they are! I also make sure I drink plenty of water which helps a lot! If your worried go to your doctor and ask questions they will help the most to ease your worry

I agree with Aim, it is not uncommon for the normal heart to drop/miss or skip beats, in fact they are extra or premature beats. But only the pause is noticed, this is common in healthy people and generally goes unnoticed, but in a Anxious state they are and your over awareness, they are more pronounced.

Check your heart medications. Many give one a constant cough though doctors are reluctant to admit this. Ramipril in particular but even after you stop taking it other heart medications give you a similar cough as you are predisposed to it
