My hand is swollen and fingers number or lock up

I work as a Chef for several years but recently I have experienced swelling in my right hand and my middle, ring and pinky finger lock up when I try to use my knife or any other utensils. I also experience numbness in my other two fingers on the same hand?

    Best to see a doctor. I suspect this could be a number of things .

    It could be rheumatoid arthritis, but actually sounds more like carpal tunnel.  Yes, get to a doctor quickly since you use your hands so much in your work.

       I had the same thing happened to me after I had carpel tunnel surgery. The doctor gave me a Cortizone shot in my hand over a year ago and it's been fine sense. They said it was trigger finger
