Probably the next step would be to try intratympanic steroid injection (steroid injection through the eardrum).  This will go directly to the problem.  Discuss this with your ENT doctor.

I have a question about the steriod injection.. I'm not sure if it was just coincidence but I was given a steroid shot for tennis elbow and the next day I had my Meneirs episode and the worst one to date. Could there be a correlation? I was given steriod caps to take the next 6 days... my episode lasted 14 (just feeling better today).

Could that have been the trigger? I have NEVER had such a bad episode until then

The steroid injection at the elbow, with a tendency to cause fluid changes, could have caused the episode (its possible) since you already have the sensitivity/low threshold for MD episodes which has its own fluid imbalance problems.

Serc takes at least a month to work and you will almost certainly need a higher dose. For example I am on 64mg tds and under control. Ask your consultant to increase your dosage, It is a very safe drug and has helped me greatly.

Betahistine HCL - it is a drug that was designed to improve blood flow and hence reduce pressure in the inner ear. In the UK it is available in 8mg and 16mg tabs.

It does not have FDA approval unfortunately.

I believe there may be one or two pharmaceutical laboratories that will produce it on a named patient basis when ordered by your ENT specialist.

My sister had itbreally bad years ago. She changed to strict Paleo and hasn t had an episode since (not a full episode). Besides caffeine and salt reduction.. a change in total diet helped her tremendously.

Mine started on 12.22 and lasted 14 days sad

Staring Paleo to see if that will work as it did for her.

I don't really have advice for you, but I just wanted to say I know what you're going through! I had my daughter in December 2015 and this past summer I was basically out of commission because I was having such severe attacks at least once a week and on days it wasn't vertigo I was still dizzy. Its so hard when you have a baby! Definitely get as much help as possible. Hope you find some relief soon!!

The hormonal changes that you go through postpartum is probably what is exacerbating your MD. If you are not already on some sort of diuretic it may be helpful. I agree with our good Dr Eleftherio that the steroid injection would also help greatly.

I really sympathise with you. That must be frightening. I can't imagine how you must feel. I was having episodes of vertigo up until May when I went to a physiotherapist, who has stopped the vertigo. Absolutely no episodes since then. We are all different, so who knows if it applies to anyone else, but just thought I should say.
