Hello all, I'm new to the forum. I was diagnosed with wegeners in 1995 when I was 20 yrs old. I have been in remission for 20 plus years, which from reading this forum I know I've been lucky. I've been really sick for the last four months and the Dr's have been treating me for sinus infection and bronchitis after much nagging my dr sent me to the rheumatologist he put me on 20mg prednisone for 20 days and then changed it to 10 mg prednisone plus 50 mg azathioprine, been on that for 6 days. I felt better when I was on the 20 mg prednisone. I have so much pain on right side of the face, terrible headaches and fatigue. The night sweats have decrease and the shortness of breath is getting better. Does anybody have any tips on dealing with the headaches?

How long did it take before you went into remission? What medicine did you take?

Sorry no advice for the headaches 😞

Hi Yurida Sounds like the doc may have cut your pred in half too quickly. From what I know you must be weaned down slowly. You may be having pred withdrawal, headaches, fatigue, etc. Hope this helps.

Hi Yurida one more thought about the headaches. Do you have a lot of sinus infections? That can cause wicked headaches as well as swelling. Very close to the brain too, so please keep on top of that with your doc.

      wishing you relief!
