Hello, I need help

I had my gallbladder removed 15 years ago and for past 8-12 months I've had pain on and off on upper right stomach area. Lately, alot of pain where it hurts to lay down or turn over. Just sitting a certain way as well. I feel nauseous and I'm really scared. I had ultrasound, blood work and 1st liver tests came back a little high, 2nd test in normal range. I know I need to see a specialist, I don't understand why it's constantly hurting

I'm thankful someone replied. I don't have issues with constipation at all, I'm totally normal with that. I was thinking maybe it's a stone stuck ?? This pain and nausea is driving me crazy. My pain has gone down a little from 130am but I'm afraid of the next attack....I'm going to try to see if a GI dr will see me today. I'm just so nervous since I have a blood disorder and don't want to get sick again

Could be fatty liver disease, about 12 years ago I had pain in same area, elevated ALT and AST and found out I had NAFLD (non-alcoholic fatty liver disease), about five years ago I was diagnosed (via a second liver biopsy) with liver cirrhosis as a result of the fatty liver disease.  Fatty liver disease can get better if it hasn't progressed to cirrhosis though.

Yes I do have fatty liver but Dr says I shouldn't have any pain. Can it get that bad? Wouldn't the dr know with my liver enzymes? This is so frustrating

well they tried to tell me the same thing initially regarding no pain, but I do in fact have pain and after several years of research and talking with various heptologists, figured out when the liver swells or enlarges that can produce some pain....sometimes it feels like there is a rib out, like I can't get into a comfortable position weird pain.

At this point thankfully I am still what they consider as having  "compensated cirrhosis."  This means the really bad stuff hasn't happened quite yet, I work a full time job and another part time job to pay for all my medical bills lol....the main complaint is how exhausted I am all the time, and in the past year I've started having some swelling in my legs and ankles, other than that, the specialists keep an eye on me, an endoscopy every 2 years to check for esophageal varicies, a complete ultrasound every six months to check for liver cancer since your chances double when cirrhosis kicks in.....most regular docs won't even see me due to all my various health problems, and a lot go hand in hand with the fatty liver and metabolic syndrome.  By the time they figured out I had this, it had already progressed to liver fibrosis so there wasn't anything they could do.  I get spacey periodically but they have kept an eye on my amonia levels and they are fine, the spaciness was mainly due to my diabetes and fibromyalgia, and since I've been on an insulin pump the last year, the "spaciness" is better.

Yeah it gets tough at times but I try to keep the mindset that it could be worse.
