Does anyone know good websites to get more pictures and info regarding rectocele/cystocele surgery?

Hi Y'all confused

I'm looking for more visuals and information on rec/cys surgery.  I just found out that my gynocologist that I was planning to do my surgery, isn't doing surgery as of Jan 1, 1017.  I'm really bummed out. So two issues:

1. Informative websites

2. Scheduling a new surgeon - I'm going to see my gynocologist this coming week.  I'm sure she's recommend another surgeon. What do I look for? Ask? Etc.

I'm sorry to read this rosa. This website has some of the best information particularly the Genitourinary Prolapse home page. Are you looking for a urogynaecologist and not a gynaecologist? That is so important. The Royal College of Gynaecologists has information on their website for patients and there are lots more but look for professional websites as apposed to forums (except this one if course) where patients are negative. You Tube has videos as well.

Thank you SO much, Matron!! I'm sure this site has way more than I'm accessing.  I'll research it much more thoroughly this weekend.

Honestly, I think my gynaecologist is on a gyn - urogyn. I just trust her and she said she'd done several. She is very understanding about the worry that I have about the surgery potentially making sex painful or less than it is right now.  NO sensitivity during intercourse at all - never has been. I was hoping that the rec/cyst surgery might make it better - as in a vagioplasty.  So....any more information that you have, I would certainly appreciate it.  I see her (gyn) next Tuesday, January 17th and want to have all the information possible by that time.

Again...thank you so much.  You're awesome!!

Matron is the most informative on here as she was a nurse. This forum has a lot of genuine ladies who have been through surgery and moist of them all have positive stories.even if surgery didn't work out they are very supportive and can give yuou lots of really good advice. me being one of them? fire away .xx

Hi Steph why is it so important to have your surgery done by a Urogynecogist? until I found this forum (after my surgery) I had never heard of Urogynecogists. My doctor was a obstetrician and gynaecologist as well as the clinical leader at Wellington Hospital in New Zealand

I had to travel 4hours to see mine hun as he is one of the best in country. Its well worth it in my experience and you weill feel your in best hands. A urogynacologist only specialises in pelvic floor surgery. Some do other gynecology surgery I think. Mine will do other Gynae work but generally its all pelvic floor repairs. Good luck in your searchx
