VS & small lump

Posted , 2 users are following.

Hi ,

I'm curious if this is normal

After my first VS a week ago

I've got a small lump on the side where the needle went in

I can feel it inside ,

Though it's not painful

I just wondered if it was normal & nothing to worry over

This isn't something I have experienced. Sounds like swelling of some kind. I think I would look on the blood donation site - they have lots of details about all possible side effects. You could also give the venesection nurses a call to put your mind at rest. X

Hi. I had the same a couple of weeks ago. They really struggle to find a vein for my saline drip to go in. After 6 attempts it was in and working. Think they must have given a tendon a bit of a jab as it had a small bump on it for about a week after. Wouldn't think anything to worry about. It's had a big old needle in there so some bruising not a surprise.

Oh dear , sorry you had problems :-(

Luckily both of mine have gone in with no issues

And thinking what you've said it is a big needle

So it's bound to cause lumps sometimes

Being a newbie I think I'm not just worrying but cautious too

Thank you & hope you don't have anymore problems with your VS. x
