brainfog

Everyone my story is your story, the life changed in so many ways. But I fight everyday to get back , no more falling and no upset stomach. Just fullness and bad ringing 24×7 and doing everything no salt , beta, yoga. exercises. I mentioned fighting depression because of such changes in lifestyle. But I am wondering maybe some of my trouble is this brainfog everyone speaks about experiencing. Can I get some feedback on what people are experiencing with brainfog. I will finish that I hope everyone on this board gets the help needed, I had cancer and it was not as bad as this disease to try to live a normal life. Maybe one day our children will not have to fight menniers disease. Blessings to all .

Hi James, I don't know about anyone else's brain fog but I seem to forget things or forget how to spell things, or just kind of spacey feelings! I hope that we all get the help we need.

I can identify, the brain fog was the worst, no motivation to do ANYTHING. Trouble speaking, slurring my words, not being able to find words. 3 second memory and a really irritable disposition. Funny thing was, some months ago I started taking essential fatty acids with DHA. I was told that it helped some people who had dry eyes so I thought to give it a go. It didn't help the eyes but I noticed my brain fog was improving. I am not 100%, I still have days I can't find my words, but I do feel more alert and more motivated. Right now, I would be afraid to stop taking it as I would be afraid the fog would return. Wish I knew this earlier. Best wishes for all out there.

Hi Donna, I found your mention of fatty acids very intriguing so I have looked it up a bit. It does sound like a good brain booster! I'm considering trying it out myself but was wondering how you're taking it. Is it in the form of tablets? Liquid? And in what dosage? I will mention it to my doctor and see what he says too. Thank you for talking about it. Anything is worth a try, right? X

I take a couple of capsules every morning. The dosages are 1000 mg fish oil which contains 180 mg EPA and 120 mg DHA. Those last two are the fatty acids in the fish oil which are the Omega 3 fatty acids. If you find one with more Omega 3 in that may be better.

I also wanted to add to your prior discussion- while you wait for the specialist appointment- ask for a medrol dose pack to help get the swelling out of the inner ear- offers some temporary relief.... In addition to the Valium as mentioned before.....

It is prednisone- a strong anti-inflammatory. Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory. Prednisone is the steroid. The oral form of the steroid shots you hear about

Ah ok! Thank you for enlightening me! My doctor today said she could not prescribe me anything apart from betahistine, cinarizine (which made me feel horrible) or Prochlorperazine which I'm scared of taking (see my other post). It must be that doctors are limited as to what they can actually give you and I gave to wait to see an ENT doctor to have anything else...

Hi James! My brain fog is awful. I feel like I'm floating. I'm in the room but it's like I'm seeing everything from outside, like on a television and watching my life go by. People and things seem to shimmer. The room is not spinning but nothing seems to have a solid contour. I forget things immediately and the wrong words come out of my mouth or the words are jumbled up. I find it really irritating to have to have a conversation. It's like I'm so tired I don't want to have to think of an answer. And on top of that, I feel weak and like my legs are going to give. Like I've forgotten how to walk and stand. And sometimes my heart starts racing... But that could be panic because of how I feel, I'm not sure.

I think that's the worst part for me, the most debilitating thing of them all as I haven't suffered a full on vertigo attack for a long time but the brain fog seems to be there most days. I work in a primary school and this brain fog makes it almost impossible to teach.

I wish you lots of luck and hope that we all get better or find some relief somehow.
