Had enough knee issues

Hello to everyone, I have had 2 opinions from pain specialist that say I don't have crps. I had the kneecap replacement April 2016. My knee gives out and causes me to fall. Not only do I have fierce pain but the swelling is awful. My ortho dr drained it about 10 days ago. It was bloody and they sent it off to check for rheumatoid arthritis and etc. Everything was normal. So my Dr doesn't want to open it up to find out whats going on? I'm having a knee angiogram tomorrow. He said this would be a excellent test to determine if the meniscus is torn or if the cement is gone. However after reading up about the angiogram they will need to drain it if it has fluid in it and then put dye in there.10 days ago after he numbed it up and shoved that needle in there I flew up off that bed. It was not very nice. Whatever he touched with that needle is the pain I feel when I put weight on it. I have pulled my Achilles tendon in the other leg. It was almost gone til yesterday when I went to the store. It is back. My Dr has sent me to get these opinions and is now sending me to another ortho Dr just to have a new eyes on it. If he agrees with the total knee replacement then he will proceed. I been icing it and keeping it elevated. However not much fluid goes down? Also something strange is going on. After I wake up in the morning and get to moving around I'm starting to feel like something inside the knee is I can feel like something is running down my knee? It almost feels like when you run warm water over your hands? I don't know what's going on with all of this but I'm so tired. I'm hoping I get some answers soon. I'm sleep deprived and I hurt so bad. I honestly think that my other leg has had about enough too. Thanks,Tina

I'm sorry I can't answer your questions, I am not medically trained (apart from cpr etc)! Do not helpful.
I would like to offer you my support & good wishes though. Knee problems are bad enough when you know what's going on but when your docs are as baffled as you it doesn't help.
Anyway, I hope they finally get to the bottom of this & give you a treatment plan.
It's hard I know trying to keep the other leg going I know from this TKR. I am hoping to go back on the waiting list for my other knee to be done.

Thank you Marilyn, I go see a new Dr today for a second opinion. I have already had to pain Dr's look at it. Yesterday I had my knee arthogram. So that should show what's going on in there? When my Dr drained fluid off there , he went into the side of my knee which was very painful. Yesterday the dr that did the arthogram said he wasn't going in that way. There isn't any joint space? That was kind of weird to know. After my appt today I should know more. Thanks for being supportive. Tina

HI Marilyn, Yes I found out from a Arthogram C.T that my medial articulate cartliage delamination is flapping around in there. So I'm scheduled to see my Dr next Wednesday to talk about doing a scope and removing the debridement and doing microfracture drilling. Im happy they found out what was going on. Have you found out anything yet? I hope to hear back from you soon. Tina.

I'm so glad you have your answers. I hope they can get you in to sort it soon.
I'm ok thanks, just trying to improve my bend. Like a lot of others. Hopefully will go back on the waiting list in June to have the left knee done. Another 6 months from then probably! Nothing moves too quickly here!!
Keep your chin up. At least you know what you're up against now. That's half the battle in my mind!!
Let us know how you get on Wednesday with the Doc.

Hi Marilyn, I had a visit with my Dr yesterday. I'm having surgery on March 1st or the 8th. I will know what day by tomorrow. They are gonna do a scope and remove the debridement and microfracture drilling. They are also gonna look for anything else that may be damaged and fix them if they can. I hoping I feel better and get some pain relief. How are you doing? Talk to you soon. Tina
