Reflux, Pain and Consistent Uncomfortable Feeling

Have been diagnosed with acid reflux and oesophagitis. Getting an endoscapy in a few weeks to rule out a stomach ulcer. I have really good days and days when I get constant dull pain, a lump in the throat and feeling sick (sometimes all day). I am taking slippery elm during the day and nizac at night. Am at my wits end as nothing seems to work and I have trouble eating and sleeping. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

No otc like Prilosec or Zantac? I use Marshmallow root open 2 capsules in a cup of warm or tepid water and drink when I get up and later on in the day It helps but ulcers take a while to heal I also take zinc 100mg. My esophagus and the pain in my back was so bad for weeks and it's easing up some now. I used Zantac 1 hour before bed and pepto  bismo just as I getting into bed you want keep the acid down while you sleep. My ulcers are so painful.  I was using Prilosec but it gave me a horrible lump feeling in my throat usually as it wore off meaning many hours later. I think I also suffer a hernia as I am a nurse a do a lot of lifting. I won't see a doctor for radical testing until I've tried all measures first. I have ordered my own blood test and will get them done in a few weeks. I've had ulcers before and esophagitis, gastritis, gall bladder etc.
