Hi, I do. Not only they get dry, but also hurt me somehow from the inside of the corners. I frequently feel I am having a small object somewhere in my eyes and am trying to remove it. Very disturbing ...

    HI Maria,

I have that too and have been suffering from it for the past year.  It does seem to be hormonal.  I've had a hysterectomy with ovaries left in and still have hormonal fluctuations.  It seems like when I'm having the symptoms I'd have about the week before my period, my eyes get SO dry!  When I wake up I can barely open them...it feels like the backs of my lids are stuck to my eyeballs.  I also find they dry out very quickly when I'm using the computer or my iPad for any length of time and it almost feels like there are sharp pieces of grit in them.  I also get headaches with sinus pressure and pain behind my eyes around that time.  After about a week of this it gets better until the next time my hormones tell me my period would be starting.  Luckily those times are becoming fewer and farther between!

Yes, I do get dry eyes. It started about three years ago. It went away and now it's back. Not quite as bad though. I use lubricant eye drops. Crazy isn't it?

You might have blepharitis.  I developed it once the menopause started.  I use the Spectrum Thea eye sauna goggles - only drawback is that they're about £200.  They heat up, you put damp paper linings in, and then wear them for approx 10 minutes twice a day. They have helped me.  I've seen adverts for more affordable goggles, which I think you heat up in a microwave, but haven't used them as I want to get my money's worth from the expensive goggles!

Hi, I also suffered from dry eyes. It appeared in my early peri years. I felt like having sand in the eyes, eyes were red, sometimes I got something like sinus pain. My ophtalmologist prescribed eyes drops. However, the problem ceased later, and it is gone now. I believe it was hormonal.

This was really bad last year. I made the connection that it happens right before I get my period. I was sent to every specialist and they fond nothing but extremely dry eyes. Recommed two kinds of drops that I put in daily. It has gotten better, but who knows how long that will last.
