Driving with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Hello all.

Firstly may i thank all the good people on here that have given us help in the past, I have been able to place my efforts in to help others, but now find myself on a different section..

As per my original entries, our daughter has suffered from Anxiety and Depression; she has received CBT. We are happy to say at the moment she is in a much better place now. She has a lovely caring, considerate boyfriend, 5mths pregnant and both are very happy. But we have had suspicions about Bipolar for some years, and after many many attempts to ask the doctors at our local surgery to test her for Bipolar and ME / Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, we have been unable to get her tested,. However at long last a new doctor after seeing our daughter, was in agreement,. This doctor had sent our daughter for various blood tests ruling most issues out, just a few days ago she was able to see specialist in M.E.. The lady was with our daughter for some time, after which she diagnosed our daughter with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome...

Now as we understand our daughter has to notify the DVLA… Although there is nothing wrong with her driving and a completely different driver than 6mths ago, she is worried that she will lose her license automatically. We have no idea in this area and wonder if any of you have had experience in this area.

As far as I understand it you would have to inform due to bipolar but not for ME/CFS - go to the Gov website https://www.gov.uk/health-conditions-and-driving and it tells you everyhting you need to know/do. I know a little about it not because of my ME/CFS but my partner was diagnosed with sleep apnea last year.
