Could I have some advice please?

I had emergency surgery 3 weeks ago today and my hospital found a lot of cysts on both of my ovaries. On my right ovary theres lots of cysts and the cysts are small but on my left ovary there small but a few grew big, ruptured and bled into me and my surgeons had to drain fluid and blood from around my womb and pelvis. And I've also got blood vessels in my cysts? I haven't got my discharge papers through yet and I was just wondering if anyone could help me understand what type of cysts I've got? Because I don't know I'm so confused I'm always in pain. I'm only 18 so I don't really understand anything. And also for the past few months my periods have been so irregular and so light I lose black and brown stuff I don't bleed but normally I'm really heavy and really regular. But my last period I didn't bleed again I just lost black, brown and green blood and stuff I'm worried It's so unusual for me. Sorry for how long it is I would just love some advice. Thank you so much for reading x

Hi Beth, I amso sorry you are going through all, this, it sounds dreadful! My daughter has pcos too and is 18 but they havedecided to just leave her cysts and said that if she is not in too much pain, they will continue to leave them cos they wll just comeback. She suffers with pain periodically, not all the time but yours sound really bad. i don't like thesound of your green discharge! You need to visit your gp and ask for a referral to gynae so thatthey can explain evrything properly and keep an eye on things. I am waiting for surgery myself - it was cancelled minutes before I went to theatre due to the anaesthetist deeming it too risky, pending further investigations into a neck injury, which he thought could possibly leave me paralysed! Anyway, your cysts are not dermoid, thats when they have bits of teeth and hair in them, basically an undeveloped twin, which is rather emotional I think for those that have them and they are unusually common.

i am sorry I cannot give any great advice as you do really need to be talking to a specialist, but with the pain, I find only rest helps. My pain must be nothing in comparison to yours, as I only have two cysts apparently (one wthin another) on my right - not sure about the left but I do get pain there also.my surgery was going to be (and hopefully will be soon!) removal of cysts, ovary, tube and edimetriosis. Should hear today or tomorrow whether i can have the op soon.

i do wish you luck! Please let me know how you get on xx

The surgeon said he isn't diagnosing me with pcos, but I am so confused. I've been to a&e twice since coming out and they have fobbed me off. I went to the doctors on tuesday and my doctor told me to wait for another period to see what happens then but he thinks it could by my cysts. But I feel like I'm left on my own to deal with things alone. I still don't have any Ultrasound appointment through or an appointment to see a Gynacologyst. I just feel so alone and being in pain all the time is horrible:-( thank you for replying back to me it means a lot. I hope your okay and I hope you get your surgery xx

It is really bad that nobody is doing anything for you!! I had that in one hosital so the next time the pain got bad I went to another. One doc was sending me home, so I just said "i am not here cos there's nout on telly you know, I am in pain and you are a hospital and supposed to help. i am not going till I have seen a gynae!!" She still tried fobbing me off and said I wouldnt be able to see a gynae on a friday night. So I said "really?! No emergencies happen at night then or over the weeked, don't think that's quite right!" So I refused to go, I complained to her manager! Sick of junior doctors playing god so I just dont put up with it anymore! Anyway, her manager apologised, got me a bed and said I would see a gynae asap, which I did, and was totally justified in demanding to see one! You really must do the same, its just not right what is happening to you! Can you go to a different hospital? Tell them you are in agony and losing green discharge! Please dont allow them to just dismiss this xx
