My UK Neurologist says no, as a CT Isn't as detailed or accurate as an MRI.

      Hi

I had a CT scan for a 7 week headache and just wondered if there were any lesions, if they could possibly be seen.

      Thank you xx

You would need to get an MRI in a 1.7T or higher machine with MS protocol being followed.  That's what I have been told.  CT's of the brain are more for people that present to the hospital with stroke like symptoms and they want to quickly rule in or rule out a stroke so they can make a quick decison about administering TPA.  This is then followed up with an MRI to get a more detailed look at what might be going on.

I did ask my GP and he said as there was no evidence of atrophy, i shouldnt worry.  But I do.

      xx
