Hello there. I have had open hand carpal tunnel release surgery on my dominant hand 2 weeks ago. I was curious as to if anyone has any insight as to how long my recovery could be until I can return to my work. Am currently a room attendant in a hotel. Alot of repetitive tasks, lifting etc....

Maybe after 3 weeks you could lift light.  My advice is start slow and let the healing begin. Try not to use your domminant hand often.  Ask your doctor for length of time. Good luck

Hi Heather - my doctor gave me a couple of weeks and then return to full duty. In fact he recommended not to baby the hands and the sooner the better for full duty. Everyone is different and everyone has a different job with different demands. Speak openly and honestly to your doctor and I think you will know when you're ready to get back. Good Luck and be well -
