I am having a flare-up and not sure how to go about helping healing with diet, etc. Should I stick to bland food and liquids for a couple of days or until I feel better? Seeing my GP on Tuesday (in a couple of days from now) and will ask him also, however, in the mean time I'm not entirely sure what to do. Googled and so many different answers come back that it's confusing. I also don't know whether to keep taking Metamucil nightly? (I know, very old school, it works for me). Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

If you had surgeryin June, can't see that it is a Divi flare.,probably an infection
from the op, Healing takes more than a couple of days of soft foods, you have to
change your eating habits for the rest of your life. Sounds as though your pain is too intense, or you would be in A&E by now
You could try Divi Diners forum ,for help You can Google it now.

Yes Metamucil is so helpful. Liquid diet is so important during a flare up. Your Colon needs to rest. Everyone is different and that is why it is so confusing as to what to do. I drink milk to coat my intestines and for natural enzyme support. Water Water Water to flush. I had a ruptured colon in 2005 and experienced a colostomy bag for 3months so I know my body and when it is time for Flagl and Cipro. Always listen to your body because I was almost sent home from ER with Constipation. If not for shift change I probably wouldn't have survived. Second radiologist saw free air so severe pain came after surgery.
