Disability in the UK for Alcohol Abuse?

Is that an option for anyone in the UK with a drinking problem?

The US is really hard on people who drink and are trying to collect Federal funds.  I saw a comment about a member here...applying for help....Just wondering what the process is in the UK regarding alcohol and disability.

    I would have thought it quite hard, becaue the view is it will be self inflcited. Also there has been a crackdown in the UK for the last few years in people claiming long term benefits, especially for disability.

      There has also beein a crackdown in the US...it seems like you literally have to be dying to get it.

    It is classed as a disability but the uk are getting really tight with disability over the board so I can see soon it will be dismissed
