Do I have malaria

Posted , 2 users are following.

I went on a four week trip around Southeast Asia that included Vietnam , loas and Thailand. I spent the majority of my time in loas and I recieved a fair few bites even though I wore long trousers and deet. I'm now home two weeks in Ireland and 21 days out of the malaria area but I unfortunately have come down with I hope to be the flu. It started off with just about four days ago acutely with a headache, naseua and body aches. It just kept escalating from there, I have a fever and I experience the chills for hours. I also have a throat like razor blades and a really dry cough. When I get some paracetamol the symptoms greatly alliavate from bed bound chills to being able to walk around with slight fatigue. My heart rate has goes up to 120 beats and I feel so dizzy when I haven't taken the paracetamol. I haven't been able to sleep very much with it as I have been feeling highly uncomfortable.

Thanks everyone In advance for there answers and I hope you all are ok too.

Have you visited a doctor? I think it would be a good idea. Did you take anti malaria tablets while on your trip?

I have no idea how I forgot to mention that I did take the antimalaria drug malrone 1 day before and 7 days after I left. I think I will take a trip to the doctors tomorrow , everyone just keeps telling me it's the flu and the doctors can't do anything about it but sure I'll go anyways to put my mind at ease. Thanks a lot for your answer.
