    Hi John

I was on 2mg Doxazosin for about two years when my urologist increased my dose to 4mg as I was still having problems passing urine. The 4mg dose did not make any difference to my stream and I did not get any relief until I had a very successful TURP procedure. My uroligist informed me after the surgery that my prostate was very constricted and perhaps this was the reason for the drug having no affect. My advice would be to opt for the surgery if possible. All the best.

Sorry if I have gone off track a little - I assumed that you had an enlarged prostate.Use of Doxazosin in my case was for treating BPH. I hope that you get to the bottom of the problem.
