Dysphagia

Curious if anyone with MD also has symptoms related to dysphagia (trouble swallowing). I now have this uncomfortable problem that is getting worse. I doctor tells me there could be a connection with my MD symptoms and my throat issues. He suggests a new MRI that concentrates on the brain stem and brain pan and auditory canal. Anyone with similar experience?

    MD does not cause dysphagia.

    How were you diagnosed with MD, what were your symptoms?

      Hi Dr., Diagnosed with MD 1 1/2 yrs ago. Loss of hearing in left ear, chronic tinnitus and vertigo episodes. Had complete battery of tests including 2 MRI's, cat scan, audio, etc.  All negative. Dysphagia started around 3 months ago and is progressive. Soft foods are no longer possible to eat. Currently taking no drugs except to sleep. I have researched dysphagia and honestly am very concerned. MD is bad enough but this new problem I feel is more concerning. My first wife passed away from ALS.

    My Grandmother had Dysphagia along with my Dad. They both had throat stretch to help. I have it from time to time. Get to a Doctor that can run tests to see where the problem is coming from. Hope you feel better soon. Both are very hard issues to deal with. Look up stretching the throat. Maybe that could help you as well.
