Epididymal Cysts

Hi I Have 4-5 Epididymal Cysts the largest of which is a little bigger that a pea. They have caused me a great deal of discomfort over the years. I saw a specialist many years ago who told me to leave them well alone. How ever they still swell up and cause discomfort. I asked the latest doctor if you can get them surgically removed. he said they are too small..!? Is this correct Any suggestions...?

That doesn't surprise me because most of what I have read on the subject is the same response, leave them alone. I have a few as well and just take some anti-inflammatory meidicine if they give you discomfort like aleve, but if you have pain then you have to get an ultrasound. Hope this helps.

    Hi Dave.

For a start I'm sorry to say this but your doctor has lied to you.....they can be removed.

I myself had the same type of cist in my left testicke years ago and mine was the size of a golf ball and caused me great pain.

I chose to get it removed.

2 years later I felt another lump in the same place.I went back to doctors followed by an ultrasound..turned out I had now got 2 small c I cists..

The hospital done a test I cannot remember what now but it turned out that I had female cell cists which ment I had 3 options....

    1. Leave them alone to grow which could cause them to rupture

    2. Have them removed but because they female cell cists they would come back but have even more

.3. Was to have my left testicle removed which I did n no more cists thank god.

The first thing u need your doctors to find out is whether u have female or male cell cists. Females return and can multiply where as male cell cysts once removed don't grow back.

    Hope this helps
