Extremely irregular period.

So I'm 18 and for the last 10 months or so I've been without a period and then the other day I randomly started. It's extremely heavy and painful. Honestly the most painful and heavy period I have ever experienced. I saw a lot of older women are having the same issue because of menopause, but aren't I too young to be starting menopause or anything like that? Please help give me some insight into what's going on. Thank you.

    Are you on any birth control? You should go see your doctor to talk about it. It's probably heavy and very painful because you haven't had it but it's definitely something you should see your doctor for. You are too young for menopause.

      I went to my doctor this morning she said its normal not to worry about it but I feel like something is really wrong with me.
