Fluoxetine- Serotonin Syndrome?

I've been on 80mg Fluoxetine for Clinical Depression since 2003- various other anti depressants tried, but none worked. However, for the past year or so I've been getting really bad anxiety symptoms, sleep problems, and generally feeling terribly on edge. I also have Hypothyroid, take Levothyroxine 100mg. Saw an Endo today who mentioned Serotonin Syndrome causing panic symptoms, so I'm wondering if the Fluoxetine might be the problem? I'd stop taking it, but when I try to reduce, my depression gets really bad again, and all the CBT, Mindfulness etc. I've had over the years has been useless. Getting desperate now. Can anyone help?

    Hi, my sister had Seratonin Syndrome while on an AD but she didn't have any panic, it mostly involved motor skills and tremors. Her doctor cut her dosage and the problems went away. Hope this helps!

    Fluoxetine made me extremely anxious even at a low dose. Might be time for a review, best of luck xxx
