Frozen shoulder?

The Dr thinks it may be frozen shoulder, I'm not so sure. I have pain reaching across in both my shoulder and bicep, but there is also pain at rest in my bicep and elbow. Thoughts?

jds, I have frozen shoulder and in the "freezing stage" my bicep hurt all the time- until you get to the "frozen" stage and start your physical therapy.

    hope that helps,

I have pain across shoulder and down my arm elbow and also in hand . It's 3 months now and still the same . At first I was not sure it was Frozen Shoulder but coming to this forum I realise it is. . I am just accepting this may take awhile to go so am managing the pain as well as I can . It gets me down but some days pain is slightly easier ice and heat is what i use . Paracetamol and try to remain positive . I am the same as you but as every day goes past I am a day closer to being pain free . Movement is poor but will work on that when pain goes. I never realised a condition could be so painful . Xxx

Hey guys, thank you again. I still have my PT tomorrow, but the doc did get back to me. He pulled me of the prednisone(sp?) and prescribed some norco and those are working. I doubt still that I'll get any sleep tonight cus I had already taken the steroid, but for the first time in a year, I am virtually pain free.

      Y'all are awesome!

Ok, thanks. I have called the doc back and am waiting to see if I can get something stronger for the pain. The prednisone makes me way to irritable, the ultram has done nothing and as I'm writing, the pain has started to creep up my neck and across my chest.

The first thing I noticed was a tightness in my shoulder socket....it stuck overnight...

I should have seen a Consultant earlier. My Doctor sent me to a Chiro....For me the choice is MUA, Hydrodilation, have I spelt that right...and to check if there is anything else wrong in the shoulder joint area.

How do u diagnosis tendinitis. ..

    Good luck.

I luckily found a doctor who understood. The first two doctors had absolutely no experience of shoulder problems...

JDS Tell us more, for instance your age and the onset of your pain. Also why your Doc tought it was FS. Did he or she ask at least twenty questions and do passive active ans resisted movements. Presumablly your neck ramges were checked as were the muscle power, comparing one arm to the other.,

Your symptoms sound very similar to how mine were in the early stages of FS.  I would ask for a referral to a specialist orthopedic surgeon.  He / she will no doubt get it x-rayed in order to eliminate any other causes, and carry out range of movement tests, etc.  My own feeling is that PT and / or exercises are of little use until the thawing stage or until after surgery.
