anyone have these? What's the possibility of an allergy to it? The dentist and oral surgeons say no chance that gold is causing the OLP....

A dermatoligist I saw advised me to have the metal partial plate removed from my mouth. I had this done three weeks ago and my mouth is 100% better. I am even able to eat spicy foods again with no reaction. When he advised this he told me he had seen oral lichen planus greatly helped with the removal of gold crowns.

Thank you! I have questioned my dentist and oral surgeon about the possible gold allergy and they both shut me down on that. I have always suspected that my gold crown could be the problem.

My dentist removed all my amalgam fillings in the hope it would help ease the pain of OLP but to no avail.  In fact he recommeded I replace the fillings with Gold.  All very confusing to the patient.
