Hi Guys

I heard back from the Heptobiliary surgeon today

I am having my hepaticojejunostomy next tuesday sept 6th at University of Chicago.

I am nervous..but hopeful that this long nightmare of sickness and pain Might be coming to an end soon.I know it will be a hard recovery..But anything is better than nausea, fatigue daily.

What is an Heptobiliary surgeon for?

Hi.I had my gallbladder taken out.The heptobiliary surgeon is a liver transplant and biliary specialist. My problem is that I have a piece of my gallbladder that is still present. It has become infected with a staph infection, plus my cusyic duct and common bile ducts are narrowed (strictured)so the bile cannot go from my liver to my intestines.I also have some stones in one of my ducts athat also blocking the flow of bile. The specialist will be going in and taking out the rest of my infected gallbladder and then he will be making new ducts from my liver and join them to my intestines..hopefully to restore the bile flow. Its a huge surgery.I am nervous but so ready for this to be done.I am tired of being nauseated, loss of appettite, pain, jaundice, fevers, itching, and fatigue.

What was the reason for your surgeries? Did you have complications?

Yes..my gallbladder exploded. .so when they took other out. There was a piece left in.it became infectious. And then my common bile duct and cystic duct strictured..narrowed.not sure if it was from the inflammation or what..I am hoping the new hepaticobiliary. Dr will have some idea after my surgery.
