Hi all I'm having a bad week this week. I'm just curious if anyone else suffers with their teeth and gums?? I'm struggling to eat at the minute due to the overwhelming nerve pain in my gums when I eat. Does anyone else have this problem?X

Yes I have had problems with bleeding gums and pain in my teeth and jaw.
I even went to dentist and he found nothing wrong.
Sometimes I get pain in my ears and jaw.
I asked doctor and he said it was part of the fibro.
Best to have a check just incase.
Hugs Mace.x

i too have a lot of trouble with my teeth, well my whole mouth. I've had to have a number of teeth root filled to try to lessen the sensitivity but wouldn't you know it, I discovered I have more roots in my teeth than is usual. I also get a lot of ulceration in my mouth especially across the back of my mouth where my soft palate is. Finally I have just received an appointment to see an oral surgeon as my jaw dislocates a lot and I have facial numbness around the joint itself.
im not saying all of this is down to fibro, in fact I know the jaw isn't. I also have EDS but it's difficult to know which is fibro related and which is EDS. I now have a splint, very much like a mouth guard but not as bulky, as I grind my teeth at night and that has helped with the sensitivity. I also use sensodyne rapid relief, so if I have a particularly sensitive tooth I can simply put a covering of toothpaste on it. Finally there is a product that your dentist can coat your teeth with. NHS patients get a bright orange stuff that tastes like bubblegum, but there is a brilliant procedure that cost about £20 per coating. Tastes terrible but is very effective, so have a word with your dentist.
Good luck with it, Lisa xx
