    Hi Cassie,

I sympathise so much with you, how long have you had your head pressure? I have had similar symptoms for 18 months and like you say, it's very difficult to enjoy life with a constant headache and feeling dizzy. I've been diagnosed with cervicogenic headache but it took over a year to get that far. I've also tried many different treatments, I've just had a Goni (greater occipital nerve injection) but unfortunately it didn't work for me but it does apparently for about 60% of people. I'm now waiting for the Botox migraine injections and am really hoping that might help. My best relief is my chiropractor, he manipulates the occipital nerve and it does seem to help. I know how difficult it is to stay positive, I have positive days sometimes and try to tell myself the headache and terrible balance can't last for ever. Has your doctor given you anything for your dizziness

Intracranial hypertension? I have headaches all day everyday. Lightheadedness, pressure, vision problems, dizziness. At first the neuro said tension type headaches or migraines but said I should get a break from them and not have them constantly... I'm awaiting tests for this but it may be a possibility for you too??

      Good morning leah

How do they do the tests are you waiting for please? I've had a CT scan but that came back normal.  My symptoms sound very similar to yours and I'd like to know I'm trying every avenue. Have you had your constant headaches for long?

      Hi Jude62,

I've been having them for roughly 3 years now non stop. Some days are worse than others but it's always there. I've had an MRI as initially they thought it may have been MS and the MRI showed up clear. I was on amitriptyline about 2 years ago and that didn't work. Was on lamictal a year ago and it helped a little with the dizziness I think but couldn't try it out for that long as I then found out I was pregnant and had to stop. The neuro said a vision field test would show if this was possibly the problem then they would have to do a lumbar puncture to prove that there is high pressure if the vision field test suggested it. He said it would be treated with topamax initially and take it from there

      hi Leah

Thanks for answering me. I am having an optician coming tomorrow, so I will ask her about the vision field test, I am just so grateful that I have another avenue to go down because that is what helps me feel positive, thank you

    Hi Cassie,

Yes of course you want to be enjoying yourself this is only natural.

Its good they have refered you to a neurologist so they can get you some proper diagnosis and get the right meds, But in the meantime get your GP t prescribe some sort of triptan, to relieve things, then when you see the specialist he will decide what is best for you to try.

Try not to despair, yes it sometimes takes a while to get the right meds, but I am confident you WILL have a life and enjoy yourself.

Good luck Cassie and take care.

Let is know how you get on

Belive me you are not alone. I promise you that it may take some time but you will eventually have more good days/weeks than bad ones. I have had similar issues for nearly 3 years. The past week has been hell brought on by a cold but overall the past 6 months I have had many more good weeks than bad. My dizziness is always with me but I have weeks where the head pressure is much more bearable. I have tried many medications and I am now on my 3rd week of Nortriptyline. I find that Ibuprofen 400mg helps the head pressure a little.

Be strong, I know it is very hard but try not to worry and think too much, get 8 hours plus sleep a night, drink plenty of water, avoid too much coffee, cheese, chocolate if you can.

Thing will get better. Best wishes.

Sometimes dizzy spells/shoots

I have had head, neck MRIs .. all clean .. I am topiramate ..First week 25 mg, second week 50 mg.. last two weeks on 100 mgs.. I have had fair share of side effects too ... But I am yet to any benefits.. no other medication sometime I feel really bad I do take 400 mg ibuprofen
