Help!!! Lump on chest/breast

Posted , 6 users are following.

Hi there. I'm looking for some help.

I'm 25 years old, the other day I was getting ready for a shower when I noticed a lump in the middle of my cleavage on my sternum. The next morning when I woke up it was very painful. Over the past few days the pain is still there mostly when I move or touch it. The lump is still there, as I have been trying to find more about it looking online and reading up on symptoms. I'm driving myself nuts.

I'm really worried it's cancer

The lump feels quite solid under my skin and is mostly on my sternum but I can feel some toughness either side of the lump on my breasts.

I'm really scared. Any help or into would be appreciated

I know I need to tell someone but I'm really scared. I don't want to go to the doctor myself either. I know I'm being silly being scared to tell anyone or the doctor but I feel admitting it makes it real. And that I'm gonna end up really ill.

One thing I shall say is that you MUST get it checked out by your doctor.  The chances are it's just a harmless lump especially if the pain coincides with your time of the month and it's hormones making it painful.  I am assuming that it is in breast tissue and not actually on a bone.

I am 68 and for a long time I had harmless lumpy breasts that were very painful every month but I had two lumps that I had to have treated.   One was a small one near my cleavage, it felt slightly hard and it moved easily under my skin.   I saw a specialist and was told that it was called a breast mouse, a harmless lump which was easily taken out.  The other lump was bigger which I was worried about but the consultant said he would stick a needle in it to see if anything came out.  A lot of horrible stuff came out and he said that it was a cyst and he said the chances were that it wouldn't come back and it hasn't and that was years ago.  Apparently the time to worry is if they stick a needle in and nothing comes out.

As I said you REALLY must go and see your doctor because if there is something sinister then it must be treated as soon as possible.   I don't want to frighten you (or perhaps I should) but my aunt thought she had mastitis, which my mother had, so she didn't go to her doctor with her breast lump, she for waited six months after she found it.  Unfortunately it turned out that it WAS breast cancer, she had her breast and surrounding tissue removed and was told that she could be called "cured" after five years.  Four and a half years later she died as the cancer had spread.   I'm sorry to have told you this but if it makes you go to see your doctor then it was worth it.  Your lump could be a blocked milk duct, a breast mouse or a cyst, all of which are easily treated but ONLY IF YOU GO TO YOUR DOCTOR!  Please go, don't put it off. Good Luck.

Sometimes it hurts and other times its fine.I don't have ins that's why I haven't had it looked at yet but I'm really nervous about getting it checked esp since I have a 7 year old and don't wanna hear any bad news.
