I am new to this site / I have been to numerous doctors and specialists and no one can solve my problem.
I get stomach pains approx. 50mm above my belly button then about 1/2 hr later the pains move to area below belly button, then approx, 1hr later i have to go to the toilet.
i have noticed lately that this occurs after a largish meal of pasta or baked chips or steamed rice and the pains begin approx. 16 -18hrs later
Does anyone have any clues as to what is going on?.
i have had this problem for about 6yrs now.
Thanks

I am getting Diarrhoea, i have been on the fodmap diet for the last 4yrs.
My dilemma is that i really do not know exactly which food are causing the problem. I was on a Gluten free diet for a approx. 2yr,
3 weeks ago i had a largish Gluten free pasta with Gluten free bread for dinner, then the next day, 2 Gluten free toast for breakfast and i got bad stomach cramps followed by diarrhoea at about 2pm.
So i have stopped the Gluten free diet.
Where i get confused is that, can meal 18hrs before cause cramps and diarrhoea?. The same thing has happened 3 times in the last 2 weeks.
I am scared to eat, my wght has dropped to 49kg and i was 57kg.
Not sure what to do.

Are your bowels hard or soft?
You say about 50mm's above your belly button so it seems to me that you are talking about the stomach more that the gut area but then you have them underneath after..hmm..
I had sharp pain to my stomach for a while due to diabetic gastropearasis(slow digestion) and the food use to sit in there and created all kind of issues, such,as, acid reflux build-up and and stomach lining erosion and sharp pains. Domperidone did the trick for me.
For the gut I got prescribed Constella for IBS-C.

Do you take any bulking agents? or any type of fiber supplement? Eliminating on a regular basis could greatly improve your pains.

Sounds like you have identified for yourself the trigger foods that cause your problems- try avoiding large prtions of pasta, chips and rice. All have high amounts of carbohydrates If that solves the problem , you've sorted it.
