Help swallowing problems and chest pains..what do i do?

I have had swallowing problems for years. It happens when im eating or drinking. It can happen out of nowhere. Feels like im choking and then i have to immediately vomit to breathe. I have learned that i have to eat super slow and take a drink after every single bite. I have kind of brushed this off because I was so afraid of what it could be. But it has gotten extremely worse. When I am eating certain foods I can eat 1 bite and start choking immediately. I also can no longer take pills of any size. Again choking immediately. Which then turns into vomiting and not being able to swallow anything else for awhile. Tonight I was eating steak and felt something stuck in my chest not necessarily to the point of choking yet. But tried to wash it down then choking and vomiting. And never got any relief. The pain in my chest is unbearble I keep burping up bile every couple min. Still cant swallow anything with out choking. This has been going on for 6 hrs. Now. It is 1:14 am and im sitting in bathroom crying. Wondering what this sounds like? Alacashia? Any suggestions on what to do to relieve pain??

I think it would be a good idea to list the foods that give you this reaction, and any that do not.
Achalasia is caused by the nerve endings for the muscles in your oesophagus not making the progressive contractions to take food down into your stomach. Often, the lower oesophageal sphincter is clamped tight shut and does not relax. Building up food creates pressure that leads to regurgitation. If pills or spicy food remain in your oesophagus, that can lead to inflammation, and this might be leading to some of the irritation / reaction. When the muscles go into uncoordinated spasm it creates a pain in your chest that might feel as if you are having a heart attack.
Meanwhile concentrate on relaxation and avoid tension (if possible). Make sure you keep drinking, and concentrate on soft food, and take in nutrition with soup etc. Do not keep swallowing if the food has not passed further into your stomach.
There is more information on the website of the Oesophageal Patients Association under The Oesophagus

Last night was rough. The feeling of something being stuck in my chest was unbearable. I finally got releif when i looked up home remedies for acid reflux. I chewed some mint gum and instantly vomited up my dinner. Not sure if this is just acid reflux or something more serious. Going to see a doctor tomorrow. Today i tried to drink/eat. Took one bite of watermelon thinking it would be light was so slow to go down that i got scared and stopped. Later i thought to try ice cream because its not solid and thought the cold would feel good on my throat. Same thing didnt feel right and stopped. With the many years i have had this the foods that seem to give me problems are any meat..chicken and pork are the absolute worst. Pasta and noodles have at times caused it. Bread and fries. Those are the main ones there have been more but i havent really kept track. Hoping its not achalasia or something that requires surgery. That would be a nightmare for me as i have 3 small children to care for. All i can do is hope i guess. Hopefully get some answers soon! Again thank you for your help.
