Don't know if this will help you, but for 18 months I had an urticaria rash which was excrutiatingly itchy especially when warm in bed at night. Anti-histamine drugs were prescribed but these made me feel drowsy. Instead I resisted scratching the rash, sometimes I'd give in, but if I could resist scratching for say twenty minutes the itch would turn to a burning feeling and eventially die away. You could try the sap from the leaves of an Aloe Vera plant (purchased in most garden centres). I find it gives great relief to the stinging and pain of my ankle ulcer. It may stop itching, too.
