Hissing sound in ear - insomnia

Hiya, I started hear hissing sound in my left ear for more than 4 weeks. After spend 2 hours at the club with loud music. I feel very low and depressed as I didn't sleep at all due to tinnitus sounds, so I went to see my GP who prescribed me medication to help me at night. I believe my tinnitus casued by noise induced. First 2 weeks sound was come and go, but in the past 2 weeks tinnitus sounds become constant, I had no idea what caused it so persisent.

My doctor referred me to see ENT specialist next week, I hope ENT specaist who can identiy underlying the casue problem. But I got a gut feeling My T was caused by loud noise.

I would like to hear someone who has experience of this, can anyone advise me what to do to help me to sleep?

Thank you.

Your ENT won't do much to be honest, they will check your ears over and probably send you for a blood test to see if your thyroid is at a normal

Level, they also did balancing techniques with me to see if there was something wrong there(I thought it was strange)

Anyway my ENT said my hissing sound will come and go and be constant at times but will more than likely get better within a couple of months as the Brain adjusts and he was spot on. 7 weeks later the noise went quieter and quieter until it's not notable anymore.

People who have really bad tinnitus hear all sorts of sounds was worse than hissing and it constant.

I doubt you have damaged your ears but the loud music won't help. It's sounds temporary for you.

Sorry for the delay in responding.

Lots of things can cause the tinnitus to spike, foods, stress, noise, headaches, a cold.

Mine was caused by a virus which I then went playing football and I heard a massive ringing in my left ear and felt the room spinning. It just carried on from there, I was dizzy for about 3 weeks after and the hissing sound and ringing was loud. It just got better over time and I don't really hear it now, only when I go sleep.

Like I said the brain adaptes and over time the noise will be less noticeable.
