My wife kept telling me to lose weight.I was not obese but did lose 20lbs and she ended up being right.Another thing you can do in the mean time is shake the bed when he's snoring.Lol it works.I even do it when she snores.Do it just enough for them to stop but not enough to wake them totally up.Good Luck!

    Sara1020,

Snoring is what happens when a person is struggling to breath while sleeping.  Your husband should have a sleep study done.

My husband snored bad and I used to think it was just normal for some people, especially overweight people.  But I became concerned when he would actually stop breathing and then gasp for air with a loud snorting sound.  That's when I made him see and doctor because I was scared every time he stopped breathing.

His doctor sent him to a sleep specialist, they did a sleep study and they found that he would actually stop breathing almost 60 times every hour.  That's EVERY MINUTE.  So he was hardly any sleep at all.  They gave him a CPAP to use at night and it made all the difference in the world.  No more snoring and he was like a different man.  More energy and happier.

I think he should talk to his doctor about this.

there are anti-snoring mouthpieces sold on the internet as well as getting his dentist to make one. But because snoring is often a sign of sleep apnea, you may want to get your husband to get a sleep study. If he has obstructive sleep apnea, this needs to be treated because it can lead to many health problems.
