Hyperparathyroid Bone Pain - Describe Please

Posted , 5 users are following.

I have what I believe is the bone pain (it's certinaly bone and it certainly hurts!), but I don't know if it's 'the' pain or something different.

The pain I get feels like my arm or leg has been hit by a thick and heavy metal bar. It goes into a sort of burning bruising pain and can last from a few minutes to all day, the latter being the longst and is today's joy - my right arm feels almost useless and it's now a major bore, as well as making typing hard.

I too have pain- in both my arms. my left is worse than the right but the pain kept me up all last night. i was told after my surgery it would get better, but it's getting worse. i think it's because i am no longer excercizing on a daily basis. i slept with an ice pack on my left shoulder and it did help me get some sleep. have you tried anti-infammatories?

I hope it stops hurting soon. Maybe it's just your body getting back in balance.

Thank you for the suggestion. I'm currently living on Anadin Extra to keep the headaches at bay, so can't take ibuprophen :-(

It is difficult to know where and what the pain is.  My back feels like its being beaten with a hot cricket bat and of course just the simplest chore starts it off.  I am off to a chiropractor today who thinks it is muscle and ligament where I have tried not to bend from the waist down due to my osteoporosis.  They say osteoporosis isnt painful until you break something???  My shoulder has a damaged ligament from reaching up too much and that arm hurts anyway as I broke my wrist two years ago.  If you go on the facebook group they can tell you more about the aches and pains.

Ouch. You have my empathy (had the back battered feeling twice and that was enough).

Sadly can't get onto FB without giving it more information than I'm comfortable with, so struck out on that one, but thank you for the suggestion.

Just lie to FB any information they want, but not to the group as we have had a few freaks trying to sabotage the group and that is why Sallie or the other Admins want info.  There are over 800 of us there now and we have one of the surgeons from the Norman Clinic as a member who is very helpful.  Can you imagine a British surgeon putting himself out on an FB group, lol!

I can't :-( It wants various forms of ID that show my name and dob :-( I go on secure sites with less documentation!

have found a way to get onto it. it would be better if it were a page that lead out to a nonFB site. so many people cant be on fb due to its intrusive nature. its a sign of how hacked off with this illness that i am that I've joined.

I personally hate FB, full of idiots and selfies.  I only originally joined because of being into animal rescue.  Sallie had to create a website (not allowed to post links on this forum)  when N.I.C.E. said they would add her guidelines for Primary hpt for ignorant GP's and Endocrinologists and she had to become a stake holder, which I dont quite understand.  Just make sure you say Elaine sent you.  You will need to have a realistic name for FB even if you make it up and I don't think Mozart will be accepted unless of course your husband is Amadeus!!

Only just saw this comment from you.  That is something new then about wanting so many details.  I did have another profile on there Mel Bourne which I noticed has been removed.  Perhaps if I hadnt used a profile picture of an Aboriginal painting I might have got away with it, lol.

All very odd. Maybe as a 'stakeholder' she'd take on some of the liability?

I sent a request to join but didn't see anywhere that it have me an option to say you'd sent me...

It maybe that when they respond they will ask you a few things about yourself as I said we had a nutjob who was on this forum too trying to sabotage the group and then we got bombarded with porn type people so Sallie shut the group down for a few days.

Just messaged Sallie about you joining and this is what she said:

"Hi Elaine, we have 3 outstanding requests who have all been messaged but not responded?"

Have you checked the "other" mail box on FB.  It is very confusing but have a search around near the top.

Thank you, have found the message - had to go digging as there wasn't a flag to say it was there (FB is barking mad!). Have replied.
