Hi I am a Peer Mentor and Facilitator for Smart Recovery and Unity in Barrow -In- Furness. I am currently studying a diploma in health and social care in college. I am a recovering alcoholic two years and 8 months into sobrity. wasn't too sure what groups were correct for me so I have tried AA but they don't seem to belive in my ethics that addiction isn't linked into mental health or moods.

I think mental health and moods definitely play some part in addiction.. Every person's path is different

    Hi Dean

Addiction is very much linked into depression and anxiety etc etc. In that people use alcohol or drugs as a coping method.  Addiction can cause depression, panic attacks anxiety etc etc..

if you do not suffer from depression it is hard to relate to this or understand it.
