Hi Linda
i am not familiar with the surgery you had, but the foot jumping just before falling asleep is something I have experienced--if I am understanding correctly. I had a full Achilles rupture on 29 July '16 and minimally invasive Achilles repair surgery on 2 Aug '16. Especially while I was in rhe splint, and later sleeping in the boot, i recall my foot flexing essentially stretching my Achilles. It seemed unconscious; I was not willing to do it, and it freaked me out because I was afraid I would do damage to the surgical site. I don't know if this is the same as what you are experiencing. Nevertheless, this phenomenon disappeared once I was weight bearing and gained mobility in my foot.
I wish you all the best for a full recovery, and i hope you find relief. Best wishes, Rob
